TRACE32 extends its SAFERTOS support to the latest SAFERTOS version 8

Lauterbach, the world’s leading supplier of debug tools, announces the support of WITTENSTEIN’s latest release of SAFERTOS v8 within its TRACE32 debug tools. The support contains additional features for debugging SAFERTOS applications. A new, free and fully functional demo as available, showing the improvements of both SAFERTOS and TRACE32.

The TRACE32 awareness for SAFERTOS includes special windows for OS objects, like tasks, queues, semaphores, timers and buffers. By using the real-time trace, the user can create a detailed performance analysis of tasks and evaluate the timing behavior of the system The SAFERTOS awareness provides easy access to all OS related features, enabling customers to carry out effective debugging with the TRACE32 systems on targets running SAFERTOS.

WITTENSTEIN high integrity systems (WHIS) and Lauterbach offer an updated version of the fully functional, timelimited demo of SAFERTOS and TRACE32 for free download. The demo showcases the updated SAFERTOS awareness from TRACE32, allowing the developer to display all SAFERTOS System Resources. The SAFERTOS demo is for the Arm Cortex-M7F, and has the Lauterbach simulator packaged directly into the demo.

SAFERTOS is a pre-emptive, safety critical Real Time Operating System (RTOS) available pre-certified to IEC 61508 SIL3 and ISO 26262 ASIL D. SAFERTOS is used internationally across a range of safety critical applications and is renowned for its high quality, delivering unprecedented levels of determinism and robustness to embedded systems whilst using minimal resources.

Lauterbach, announced support for SAFERTOS earlier in 2019. The new software package from Lauterbach contains a ready-to run configuration for the latest SAFERTOS Real Time Kernel. The updated SAFERTOS awareness provides easy access to all OS objects and generates performance analysis data. TRACE32, the class leading debug tools from Lauterbach supports SAFERTOS on Arm Cortex-M Architecture.

WITTENSTEIN and Lauterbach will continue their partnership to ensure seamless interoperability between SAFERTOS and TRACE32
